During the beginning of the COVID-19 global pandemic, the future of (in-person) retail was at its most uncertain as Joe Consumer’s fear of venturing out into public spaces for fear of contagion directly impacted the success of any brick and mortar business. And while that correlation is an obvious one, this was, of course, amid the unforeseen breakdown of the global supply chain and consumer hoarding behavior borne from unprecedented levels of panic in retail customers.
