MEANDER

DESCRIPTION
As part of an Innovation Day event at Net Atlantic, an effort was made to discover a means to monetize social media. In the process of collaborating with a product manager, the idea of Meander was born.

Meander was a location-based (i.e., “check-in”) mobile app that was part customer loyalty program and part social gaming application. Based on a user’s location, time-sensitive promotions from local participating establishments would be broadcasted to an individual, enticing them to check-in at that particular physical location while leveraging gamification/micro rewards practices. Repeated check-ins would lead to better deals and the gaining of certain perks similar to those gained from store-issued punch cards where X number visits would gain the consumer a particular benefit.
