DESCRIPTION
Working with an outside consultancy, One Door employed Marketo as its digital marketing automation platform solution. As such, Marketo Engage handled One Door’s overall lead generation efforts; namely, the creation, sharing and tracking of email campaigns, downloadable/gated PDF assets as well as a great many landing pages. Specifically, One Door’s Marketing department wanted to rapidly create and deploy landing pages on the fly that were: 1) consistent not only with the brand’s established look and feel but also with the look and feel of all of One Door’s other digital assets, 2) designed to be flexible enough to accomodate different layouts and content blocks as a function of the content to be used and, what was personally important to me, 3) no longer a mess behind the scenes code-wise (the unfortunate result of legacy copy-and-pastings from an irregular roster of users through the years), which had lead to performance issues on the back-end and even more inconsistencies on the front-end.
A Marketo landing page template was then designed in such a way that individual content sections (modules) could effectively be “turned off or on”, altering the appearance of the landing page in the process of filling out the template. Since this was going to be built by the agency on retainer to One Door, detailed documentation had to be furnished explaining the hows and whys it was to be built the way it was built.
